Debate Heats Up Over Proposal to Allow Trump a Third Term

A proposed constitutional amendment introduced by Republican Congressman Andy Ogles has sparked a heated debate about presidential term limits. The resolution, which aims to amend the 22nd Amendment, could allow former President Donald Trump to seek a third term, challenging long-standing norms in American politics.

Ogles argues that Trump’s leadership is essential to addressing the nation’s challenges and restoring its former glory. The amendment would permit presidents to serve up to three terms, including non-consecutive ones, potentially opening the door for Trump to run again. However, the proposal faces significant hurdles, requiring broad bipartisan support and state ratification

The debate has divided opinions, with supporters praising the amendment as a necessary step and opponents warning of the dangers of extending presidential power. As the discussion unfolds, it raises critical questions about the future of leadership and the balance of power in the United States.

  • The existing amendment does not prohibit anyone from Running for office and I expect Trump will run for office, declare himself the winner and try again to install himself in office. Whatever happens, Trump is not going to voluntarily leave office in 2028. It is gonna get ugly.
